Okay, color me disgruntled. Potc_votes is back and, despite their attempt to seem open-minded, THEY FORGOT TURROW!!! Now, I might not be so upset about that if they hadn't included Elizabeth with everybody! and Jack/Barbossa, Jack/Angelica and even Sparrington before they included a pairing that, for many of us oldies, was the original reason for becoming a fanficcer in the first place. They did correct that but, imo, it was too little, too late. Add to that that I never get nominated for any of these kinds of things (Yeah, so it's sour grapes, you want to make something of it? This is MY FUCKING journal. I can pout here if I want to!) plus they vow to ban anybody who says "hateful things" which we know means that anybody who is not a Sparrabether better be very careful with their words while trying to ignore Sparrabethers' constant sniping at anybody who doesn't tow their line. OMG, I sound like Ver from a few years back!:)

Ah, thanks be to the gods, it's just fandom. I'll go play with one of my dogs now.

Ah, I just had a look at the comm, and Turrow is included in the list now - I don't know if anyone else told them, or if they noticed the omission themselves, or whatever. Anyway, it's there!

ETA: OH MAN, THAT'S IT. I AM BANNING MYSELF FROM COMMENTING IF I'VE BEEN NEAR CODEINE FROM NOW ON. Because, seriously, it's all there in your post. I CAN TOO READ GUD, I PROMIZ ♥

It's a group of sparrabethers trying to be horsehitty again. That's what it basically boils down to. And things seemed so peaceful. *sigh*

I'm pretty sure they only posted to TP to try to get a rise. Why else start an argument with thin air and then take it down after the mod says "ok thus time, but ask next time?"

Goodness, I didn't know the POTC fandom now has such negative undertides going on. I remember the early days, when it was one of the most positive fandoms I'd ever seen. :(

It's simply because a few very vocal people (i.e. girls and women) saw DMC and decided that Jack and Liz should be the only OTP for anybody. They are generally anti-slash and Will-haters (why, we don't know but there it is.) Now, the mods for potc_votes say it was an unintentional oversight but I'm not entirely convinced. After all, when you spend five years hating, abusing, and disparaging one of the heroes and Mary Sueing Elizabeth into a relationship with Jack, how psychologically prepared can you be to list Turrow as one of the categories in your contest? It's just silliness, of course, but it really bit me in the butt.;)
